There is an old saying, out of sight, out of mind. When we forget to pray and forget to praise our Creator, then we can more easily slip into backsliding. "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour." (1 Peter 5:8) KJV On a website entitled ministry-to-children, I found the best statement I have seen yet about the power of staying true to the Father through praise--and prayer--the two being intertwined: "Memory Verse: 'Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the Earth.' Psalm 46:10 "Gospel Connection: This lesson is designed to teach children that God is bigger than any problem that they can face and any worry that they may have. We should take time to stop and praise God for His great sovereignty."

In the Bible sometimes God is praised for His inherent qualities. His majesty (Ps 104:1) or holiness (Isa 6:3) comes to mind, and He is "glorified as God" (Rom 1:21) in view of what He essentially is. More frequently He is praised for His works in creation, providence, and redemption. References may be dispensed with here, for the evidence meets us on almost every page of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and the Book of Psalms in particular, from beginning to end, is occupied with these themes. When God's operations under these aspects present themselves, not simply as general effects of His power and wisdom, but as expressions of His personal love to the individual, the nation, the church, His works become benefits, and praise translates into blessing and thanksgiving (Psalms 34; Psalm 103; Eph 1:3; 1 Pet 1:3). Besides, the Bible tells us in Psalm 117:2 -- Praise the Lord...because God’s faithful love toward us is strong, the Lord’s faithfulness lasts forever! (CEB) Praise the Lord...because ·the Lord loves us very much [L great is his loyalty/love toward us], and his ·truth [faithfulness] is everlasting. (EXB) Praise the Lord...because the Lord loves us very much, and his truth is everlasting. Praise the Lord! (NCV) We should be thanking God for His Attributes Deuteronomy 32:4 -- “The Rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are justice. A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and upright is he." We should be thanking God for His Grace Ephesians 2:8 -- "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God," We should be thanking God for His Provision Acts 14:17 -- "Yet he did not leave himself without witness, for he did good by giving you rains from heaven and fruitful seasons, satisfying your hearts with food and gladness.” Conclusion: "I'm proud to praise God, proud to praise God." Psalm 56:10

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO LOVE GOD - YEHOVAH We are to love God - Yehovah which is part of the creed of the lord Messiah Jesus: Mark 12:29-30: “Hear, O Israel: Yehovah is our God, Yehovah is the only God." And you shall love YHVH - Yahovah your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, you shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these. Abraham Lincoln was asked why he didn't attend or belong to a church, and his answer was if they put the words of Mark 12:28-34 in their entryway and the people who go to that church practice the words of Mark 12:28-34, he would go to that church. Now how do we love God - Yehovah? We do so as followers of His beloved Son Jesus by keeping the commandment He gave to Jesus to give to us. Exodus 20:6: And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments. John 14:15: If you love me, keep my commandments. John 14:21: He that has my commandments, and keeps them, he it is that loves me: and he that loves me shall be loved of my Father - Yehovah, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. John 15:10: If you keep my commandments, you shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s – Yehovah’s commandments and abide in His love. This is what faith-obedience is all about; these are the works produced by faith that James was talking about. Notice what Jesus says: John 17:8: For I have given unto them the words which You gave me; and they have received them and have surely known that I was sent by You, and they have believed that You did send me. John 14:10: Do you not believe that I am in the Father - Yehovah, and the Father - Yehovah in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father - Yehovah who dwells in me, He does His works through me. John 3:34: For he whom God - Yehovah has sent speaks the words of God - Yehovah: for God - Yehovah has not given the Spirit by measure unto him [the lord Messiah Jesus Yeshua]. John 12:49: For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father Who sent me, He gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. So, to love God - Yehovah is to do all that He has given us to do through His beloved Son, the lord Messiah Jesus. All that Jesus commands us to do is, "seek you first the kingdom of God" Matthew 6:33, etc., "love one another", etc. When we love our neighbor as ourselves, we show our love to our Father and our God – Yehovah. Because He is love and enables us by His Spirit to love others, and whatever He commands us to do, He enables us by His Spirit to be able to obey His commands, so them! Halil Yah - Praise God!
