The answer to this discussion is found in the doctrine of the 'Hypostatic Union of Jesus'. He was God as if he were not man, and he was man as if he was not God. At His incarnation, Mary conceived and gave birth to the Son of Man, not the Eternal Son of God. Jesus ADDED humanity to his divinity at his incarnation, but he laid aside his divine privileges (but not his deity) when he came to earth, in order to be our human representative in every way. The only way Jesus was not like us was in that He was born sinless. Therefore, Mary was the mother of Jesus, the Son of Man, but not the Mother of God, as He had no beginning nor end. I hope this helps with this difficult subject. Blessings to you all.
In truth He made his Humanity ONE with His divinity and the two did not separate "for a single moment nor the twinkling of an eye". From the time of His incarnation He was fully God and fully Man. When He was in the womb He was fully God and fully Man. When He was nursing He was fully God and fully Man. When He was going about His every day life He was fully God and fully Man.
I know that Mary is the mother of God because I heard it in Church and I believe Church.
Since God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) is eternal means He does not have a mother. If He had a mother then He had a beginning which is not what the Bible teaches. While Mary carried Jesus in her womb, she did not create God nor was she the source of God nor is she part of the Godhead.
