One of the reasons why we find it hard to live for God is that none of us can keep His Commandments. Also our nature because of the fall of Adam and Eve is sinful. In other words none of us is good enough to be in His presence. God is Holy, Holy Holy and He cannot stand sin or imperfection. But wait, God knows us with our imperfections and that is why He sent Himself (Jesus Christ) as a sacrificial pure Lamb, with no sin to Die on the Cross and shed His blood to redeem the sins of all that accept and believe in His Son. When God looks at the believers that have accepted His Son, He sees His Son in us, thus He does not see our sin for the Holy Spirit lives in us and makes us Holy. Jesus Christ died for our past, present and future sins because we accepted Him and the message He brought from God so that we could have eternal life. For a believer, the Original Sin that Adam and Eve committed has been erased for ever, thus God sees His Son in us. We have become Sons of God, just like Jesus is His Son, we also will become Sons of God and have eternal life. Jesus Christ is the Truth, the only Way and life to the Father (God).
