Acts 1:6-7 ► Then they gathered around him and asked him, "Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?" He replied, "The Father alone has the authority to set those dates and times, and they are not for you to know. In 2 Peter 3.8-15 we read....Instead of worrying about when the rapture will occur believers should follow Peter's instructions to repent of their sins, live lives of holiness and godliness, be zealous and at peace, and wait for the Lord's coming with forbearance and joy. MARANATHA=God welcome!
No, as stated it is not possible for the present church-age believer or unbeliever know when Christ will return. Matthew 24:36. "But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only." However, there is a group of people who will know. The tribulation period saints; all they have to do is count the days. In Daniel 12:7 and following we read: "And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished." Daniel 12:8 "And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?" Daniel 12:9 "And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end." Daniel 12:10 "Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand." Daniel 12:11 "And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days." Daniel 12:12 "Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days." Daniel 12:13 "But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In Matthew 24:15 Christ told his disciples: When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) (See Daniel 12:11) This is the same event described in; Mark 13:14; 2 Thessalonians 2:4. Although the specific year as to when the great tribulation would begin is not stated we ARE told in Daniel 12:11 there will be "a thousand two hundred and ninety days" from the time the daily sacrifice ceases (Antichrist set up in the temple) until the "time of the end", approximately 3-1/2 years. Daniel 12:12 states those who wait and come to the thousand three hundred and thirty-five days are blessed and in v.13 Daniel is told to go his way until the "end" and rest and stand in his "lot" at the end of days. We have two separate time frames and events or "ends" spoken of here. From Daniel 12:11 to Daniel 12:12 there is a difference of 45 days. I personally believe The Lord Jesus will arrive 1,290 days/3-1/2 years after the Antichrist sets himself up in the temple. Christ will defeat Satan and his armies then set up his millennial kingdom. Daniel and his "lot" is still resting. What is Daniel's lot? I believe it is the Old Testament saints who will be resurrected after the tribulation and the kingdom established (1,335 days).
We can not know the day, hour, or even the year of Christ's return. However, there are some signs found in the scriptures that will precede Christ's coming. Here are three. 1. A general falling away from Christianity, called apostasy. Some have stated that the decline in belief in America and Europe fulfills this sign. But the total number of Christians in the world has been increasing - at the present time it is over 2.3 billion world wide. The gains have been in the poorer countries and in China. Christ himself raised the question of whether or not there would be any faith on earth at his second coming. 2. The temple in Jerusalem must be rebuilt. 3. The Antichrist must be revealed. This person is able to do great signs and wonders in front of believers in imitating Christ. He isn't a great military conqueror. Christ will slay him at his second coming. There are others, such as the rising of many false prophets and signs in the sun, moon and stars, but the three above are distinctive.
No, the exact time is only known by the Father. You can find verses that explain what will happen when He comes back. You can find signs in the Bible that will happen before he comes back. The Disciples thought that it would be in their life time. God does not have a clock to go by, for He is Alpha and Omega and 1000 years is like a day and a day is like 1000 years. The main point to this question is that He said He was coming back for He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. The thing we should be doing is His Will while living and waiting for His return. Many people will try to pin point His return, but do not be deceived and many false prophets will try to point you in the wrong directions, but stand firm with the instructions in the Bible and listen to the Holy Spirit living in you for the correct guidance.
No one knows the time when Our Lord Jesus Christ returns here on earth at the "Seventh Trump," and no sooner. It is written "In The Twinkling Of An Eye" so that quick! Only Father God Knows. It is Written that, we can know the Seasons/Signs though, read in The New Testament, the book of Mark chapter 13, Matthew 24 and Luke 21. May You Be Enlightened In The Truth Of Gods Written Word, Your Sister In The Lord! :)
Is it possible to know when Jesus is coming back? Matthew 24:15 (KJV) when ye shall se the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Daniel 12:11, And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. I believe the Bible tells us what to look for and when we see that come to pass we can start the count down.
We cannot precisely know the day or hour of Christ's coming but we can definitely tell the signs of the season of His coming. In Matthew 24, Jesus gave an elaborate description of the events that will precede His coming which include, among others, the rise in false teaching; the growing persecution of the church, the rise of global violence and wars and evidence of strange cosmic signs and atmospheric disturbances including earthquakes and pestilences of disturbing proportions. Perhaps of great significance is the falling away of the false church before the Antichrist is revealed to the church. These events are also mentioned in 2 Thess. 2:1-3. So where are we in God's prophetic timeline? I believe the falling away has commenced and will continue in greater span as Christ's coming approaches. Many will be caught unawares as the true church is taken away because they have sold their souls to the religions and cults of the enemy (1John 4:1-7). Jesus said that when we see these signs, we should look up for our salvation draws near.
I would like to answer Will Jesus ever come back to earth? • Asked June 11 2014 •by Jake Gonzales, a question that was merged with the 1 above. Yes, for the following reasons: (1) To defeat the Antichrist and the world’s nations assembled @ Armageddon (Revelation 19:17-21) (2) To regather, regenerate, and restore faithful Israel (Isa. 43:5-6; Jer. 24:6; Eze. 11:17; 36:28; Am. 9:14-15; Mic. 7:18-19; Mt. 24:31 (3) To judge and punish faithless Israel (Ez. 11:21; 20:38) (4) TO SEPARATE THE SHEEP FROM THE GOATS (Matt. 25:31-46) (5) To resurrect OT (Old Testament) and Tribulation saints (Job 19:25-26; Ps. 49:15; Isa 25:8; 26:19; Dan 12:2)
No one can set a date certain, but if we are to watch and “…be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming,” (Matt. 24:42) then there has to be some event that we can look for to know the Lord’s return is near. There are two such events that Paul gave to the Thessalonians. In Paul’s First epistle to the Thessalonians, he told them about the Rapture (1 Thess. 4:14-17). He also told them about The Day of the Lord (DOTL) – a time of God’s Wrath that would come upon them like a thief in the night, “like labor pains upon a woman with child” (1 Thess. 5:1-2). Elsewhere, Peter tells us that the DOTL will bring about catastrophic destruction: 2 Peter 3:10 (NASB) “But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up.” Given the above facts, it is understandable that the Thessalonians, within two months – the time between Paul’s first epistle and his second epistle – had become anxious about missing the Rapture and were concerned that the DOTL had come upon them. This can be seen in Paul’s Second Epistle [emphasis mine]: 2 Thessalonians 2:1-2 (NASB) 1 Now we request you, brethren, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him [the Rapture], 2 that you not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit or a message or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord [DOTL] has come. So, in order to allay the Thessalonian’s fears, Paul continues with two events that they (the Gentile Church on earth) can observe to know that the DOTL could not have overtaken them. Please reflect on what I just said. The Rapture could not take place until the Church sees these two events occur on earth. The events are [emphasis mine]: 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 (NASB) 3 Let no one in any way deceive you, for it [the DOTL] will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God. The Apostasy has, and can be, debated. Personally, my conclusion is that it occurs during the 42 months that the Antichrist has authority to persecute the Saints during the last half of the Tribulation. If you are of the Pre-Trib persuasion, you typically would argue that the Saints in the Tribulation are of Jewish decent, and that God only deals with Israel during the Tribulation. That brings me to the second event, i.e. the man of lawlessness being revealed and taking his seat in the Temple, displaying himself as God. There is some discussion as to who this person really is. Is it the AC, or could it be Satan himself? If there are other events that will reveal who the AC is long before the Son of Destruction takes his seat in the Temple, then it bodes for Satan being revealed at the midpoint of the Tribulation – possibly as the Abomination of Desolation (AOD) himself. But I don’t want you to lose sight of the salient point: Paul is addressing the Gentile Church (the Thessalonians) and telling them that the Rapture cannot occur before the midpoint of the Tribulation. The Church has to be on the earth, at the middle of the Tribulation, to see the AOD. So, what are we to conclude? 1. There is at least one clearly defined event that the Church can observe to know that the Lord’s return is near, i.e. the Son of Destruction displaying himself as God in the rebuilt Temple. That is why Jesus gave us the warning in Matt. 24:15. 2. That means the making of a covenant between the AC and “the many” (Dan. 9:27) will be another event that can be observed to know that the Rapture is near. This event will occur three and one half years before the AOD. It starts Daniel’s 70th Week, and will allow the Jews to rebuild the Temple.
Since we are in the church age, we can know the times and the seasons. We do know that all believers, those who have trusted Jesus alone will go in the rapture of the church. When Jesus comes for the church, those sealed with the Holy Spirit, Ephesians 1:13, He comes in the clouds, and we go to meet him in the air. At the end of the tribulation He comes back to the earth, and we will come with Him. It is not possible for a born again believer to go through the time of Jacobs trouble, the 7 year period. If a born again believer could take the mark of the beast, God would have to send His own Spirit to hell. That can not happen. So we will be taken out before that time. The apostasy in the church started a long time ago. Those who have not trusted Jesus as the only way of salvation plus nothing, and are trusting in what they do, their own works to save themselves. Matthew 7:21-23. They have never done the will of His Father in heaven. John 6:40 and John 6:29. They are the false church system that do not believe Jesus died and paid our sin debt in full, and we can never be condemned again. John 3:18 They are trusting in what they do instead of what Jesus did for us. The wheat are the true believers, and the tares are unbelievers that have not trusted Jesus as the only way to be saved without works. Romans 4:5. They may look and act alike, but one is sealed by the Holy Spirit saved by faith alone, and the other is doing good works and keeping the law to save himself by works. The apostate church, unbelievers, will go right on into the tribulation. During the tribulation there will be 144,000 of the nation of Israel saved, plus a great number of gentiles to many to number. Revelation 7:1-17. We who have believed on Jesus as the only way of salvation by grace, Romans 11:6 and have nothing to boast in, Romans 3:26-28, and Ephesians 2:8-9 are sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise Ephesians 1:13, and will go in the rapture of the church. Our sin debt has been paid in full and we can no longer be condemned. John 3:18 and John 3:36
I want to answer the part of this question which says: "Will Jesus ever come back to earth?" The answer is an emphatic yes. Acts1: 9 After He said this, He was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid Him from their sight. 10 They were looking intently up into the sky as He was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. 11 "Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who Has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen Him go into heaven." Mat28: 29 I tell you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it anew with YOU in my Father's kingdom." Mat25: 5 The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep. 6 "At midnight the cry rang out: 'Here's the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!' This is an extract from the parable of the 10 virgins. Most people begin to doubt if Jesus is coming again because of the time that it has taken just like the virgins who all fell asleep. There was never a doubt that the bridegroom was coming, the question was when. The question of when has already been fully answered by others. Mat24: 30 "At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. 31 And He will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other. I can go on quoting from the Gospels about the second coming of Jesus, but suffice it for me to say that Jesus will return. What is important is to ask ourselves what we ought to do as we wait for His second coming. Mat 28:16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
As the question states,"Is it possible to know when our Lord Jesus coming back on earth?" No, it's not possible to know when He is coming back. In the book of Revelation 22:7 He tells us, "I am coming soon." His timing is for the father in heaven to know. We as believers, just wait for His coming, continuing doing good. Blessed is he that keeps the prophecy of this book. Rev.22:18-20 We are warned not to add or take away any of the word in the prophecy, or we'll add plagues described in this book or will reduce our share. So always be prepared for His coming any time.
The question is: "Is it possible to know when Jesus is coming back?" Mt 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. Notice Matthew 24: 32-44: Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is nigh: So likewise you, when you shall see all these things, know that he is near, even at the doors. Truly I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away..... OF THAT DAY AND HOUR KNOWS NO MAN, NO, NOT THE ANGELS IN HEAVEN, BUT MY FATHER ONLY. But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. WATCH THEREFORE: FOR YOU KNOW NOT WHAT HOUR YOUR LORD DOES COME. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore BE YOU ALSO READY: FOR IN SUCH AN HOUR AS YOU THINK NOT THE SON OF MAN COMES. We also know that a day with Yehovah is as a thousand years: 2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with Yehovah as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. Our God has given to man 6,000 years to come back to him and learn to live according to His righteousness, seeking to have a place in the coming new age, the thousand year rule which constitutes the rulership of Jesus over the earth establishing the kingdom of God at that time. So we have 6,000 years given to man and 1,000 years given to His son to establish His righteous government over all the nation at that time. Now from Adam to Abraham we have 2000 years, from Abraham to the death of Jesus we have 2,000 years and if you add 2,000 years to the death of Jesus who died when he was 33 and was born 5/6 B.C, then he died about 28/29 A.D. So we may not know the day or the hour, but we can come very close to calculating the year! We probably have only 14-16 years left until Jesus return to set up the kingdom of God on this earth seated on the throne of David at Zion/Jerusalem. All those that are resurrected at his coming will be glorified immortal men/women who will co-rule and co-inherit all things with the lord Jesus God's anointed one - the Messiah of Israel. Time is very short. I am now 72, so if I live until his return I will probably be 84-86. So I don't have a lot of time left to witness to others about the soon coming kingdom of God! How about all of you! The harvest is plentiful and the laborers are few, ask Yehovah to send more laborers out into the harvest!
