This is a tough issue, but with a simple answer. You must personally accept that what you did was wrong and is sinful, ask our Lord for forgiveness and truly repent from your actions. Sounds simple, but in actuality, harder than it seems. There is only one unforgivable sin (Mark 3:28-29) and it is not adultery. He will forgive us of our sins (1 John 1:9) and forget (Isaiah 43:25, Psalms 103:12). But you must confess your sin(s) to Him and repent (John 8:3-11). The hardest part of this sin is forgiving yourself. This action will live with you forever. But if you trust in our Lord, believe in His Salvation and Grace for you,....you will come to understand His forgiveness of this sin.
The question implies that you regret your act of adultery (the actual meaning of 'repent' by the way). If this is the case, then all that remains to do is to know and BELIEVE (Eph 1:13) that ALL our sins were forgiven through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, and that salvation is offered as a free gift today by the grace of God to all who will BELIEVE it! (1 Cor 15:1-2) BELIEVE that your sins were forgiven through Jesus Christ, that He was buried, but defeated death for our justification (1 Cor 15:3-4, Romans 4:25)! THIS is the good news! We are saved by God's grace, through FAITH in CHRIST and what He completed on the cross for us! (Ephesians 2:8-9) God knew before you did it that you were going to....do it! This is why He did what He did. HE made the escape route FOR US, now we simply follow HIS route by believing that He made it and that it is completed! Keep in memory the penalty (the cross) that HE PAID on your behalf and you'll begin to think differently on how you choose to live for Him because of it. It's knowing that YOU will not judged by God and YOUR sin. Christ, who knew no sin, was made to be sin FOR US, and God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself, NOT imputing our trespasses! (2 Cor 5:19-21)
