John chapter 1 says that in the beginning was the Word. The Word was with God and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him was not anything made that was made.
The Word is Jesus. If you substitute the name of Jesus for Word, he and him, you could read this verse like this, "In the beginning was Jesus. Jesus was with God and Jesus was God. Jesus was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Jesus, and without Jesus was not anything made that was made."
Genesis chapter 1 says that "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth." This is reference to Elohim, the Trinity or triune God, three individual personages that are one in will.
Genesis shows us that the Godhead created the heavens and the earth. John tells us that Jesus was an intricate part of the creation of everything including the heavens and the earth. The answer to your question is "yes". The heavens and the earth were created by God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Ron, I think you have the most understanding answer to the question. I have always said it was Jesus, but the whole 3 persons of the Trinity were involved in creating the Heavens and the Earth, thus the Universe. I will just say the Godhead from now on, not to leave out Jesus or the Holy Spirit. Thanks for sharing the Elohim,Trinity and triune God.
Thanks for your kind words Tony. I appreciate knowing that I what I wrote made sense. God bless you in your bible studies.
