I tend to over simplify my answers sometimes but in this case I think the answer to the question posed is really simple. Sacrifices were offerings placed on the altar. The word offer means to bring to the altar. So the writer is simply saying let us bring praise to the altar as a substitute for or instead of the sacrifice. GOD WANTS OUR PRAISE MORE THAN OUR SACRIFICES.
