GOD IS THE CREATOR. SOVEREIGN, KING. Isaiah 45:6,7, " I Am The Lord, and there is no other. I form light and create darkness..." Whoa! What is this - darkness? In our Bible darkness is a symbol of anything not of God, anything that opposes God. See Exodus 10:21-23. In Isaiah 47:10,11, we are told unbelief in God causes darkness, evil, chaos... Amos 3:3-7, Can two walk together unless they are agreed? Will a Lion roar in the forest, when he has no prey,... Will a bird fall in a snare on the earth where there is no trap for it?...If a trumpet is blown in a city, will not the people be afraid? If there is a calamity in a city, will not The Lord have done it... Surely The Lord God does nothing unless He reveals His Secret to His servants the Prophets. This was the storytelling of God's judgement on Israel. In Bible Times there were many false gods. Read Exodus, the plagues. Each was against a false god. Isis -god of the Nile; Hequet, frog God; Set, god of the desert; Hathor, goddess of livestock; fly god, Uatchit; Osiris, fertility god, Nut, sky goddess; Re, Sun god, even pharaoh himself. The serpent in Eden, the serpent story in Exodus chapter 7..Aron's staff and the magicians staff eaten by Aron' s. Symbolic of God's unmatched power over all pagan gods. Numbers 25:1-5 And Jeremiah 11:13 speak of Ba'al. Psalm 74:12-17, "For God is my King of old working salvation in the midst of the earth...You broke the heads of the sea serpents in the waters, You broke open the fountain in the flood, You dried the mighty rivers, the Day is Yours, the night also, You have set the borders of the earth,You have made summer and winter..." Psalm 65:6,7 - Who established the mountains -You who still the noise of the sea, their waves...and the tumult of the people....- Jesus, God said...Luke 16:13, no servant can serve two masters...you cannot serve God and mammon... Why would GOD tell us all this and more if He created chaos? Job 26:5-14 - "The dead tremble, those under the waters and inhabiting them -Sheol is naked...He stretches out the north-He hangs the earth,...He covers the face of His throne, He drew a circular horizon...the pillars of heaven tremble...He stirs the sea...His Hand pierced the serpent..But the thunder of His power who can understand?" Isaiah 30:7 And psalm 87:4,Rehab is a picture of Egypt, Babylon, and apostasy. It is not the Rahab in Joshua 2:3-11. Isaiah 51:9,10, Are you not the Arm that cut Rahab apart - the one who dries the sea? This is your God-the God who saves you! Job 40:15, God created the behemoth, a symbol of chaos. The sea monster, the serpent, the Dragon, Satan, all things that can cause chaos. Remember Satan fell..he had a choice to worship and respect God. He bet on himself...so his entry onto earth brought unbelief, and chaos, just like it did bring war in heaven. Psalm 24 - God owns creation..Psalm 93..God reigns, your testimonies are very sure. Holiness adorns your house, O Lord, forever. Our God is a God of order, creativity, and love. Matthew 12:28, But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the Kingdom of God has come upon you. Vs 30, He who is not for Me is against Me. 1 John 1:16 - And we have known and believed the love that God has for us...God is love. God's love allows choice. We can have peace whatever comes, if we walk with him. We can choose turmoil, distress and chaos if we choose to shun Him, for our own purposes. We can have love amidst chaos, peace in our souls during turmoil. Sin is terrible. Isaiah 45:14, " Thus says the Lord: the labor of Egypt (a symbol of the world),...shall come over to you,... they shall walk behind you,...they will make supplication to you, saying surely God is in you and there is no other God." The Creator and Redeemer will not be thwarted. He is Sovereign! Darkness or Light, peace or chaos?
