The temptations had to be of a spiritual nature, a vision. How could satan take Jesus and "set Him on the pinnacle of the temple?"
And what mountain is high enough in the physical realm to afford anyone to see "all the kingdoms of the world?" This isn't logistically possible. All the kingdoms of the world can't be seen from anywhere on earth.
This is an account of a satanic vision. Satan is an angel. Angels are spirits. This isn't an account of a physical being physically taking Jesus up on top of the temple in Jerusalem, any more than demon possession is the physical presence of a demon... It's all spiritual. Otherwise, how did he get Him up there?
