Was Ehud the only person in the Bible that was left-handed?

Why was it so important that the Bible mentioned the fact that Ehud was left-handed?

Ehud may have been the only specific person who was cited as being left handed, but there were 700 Benjamites were also known to be left handed warriors who had amazing accuracy with the sling. The Living Bible, in Joshua 20:16 refers to them as sharpshooters who could hit a target within a hair breadth.

Fact that Ehud was a lefty is a very important detail in this sequence of events. The word in the hebrew translated to left-handed means bound or impeaded on the right side. Suffice it to say it was a negative thing to be without the use of the right hand for in their culture the left hand was used to do unpleasentries. Also, one who was cripled could not enter the tabernacle.
Because in this culture everyone drew sword with their right hand from left thigh this is what was checked before standing before the king. Ehud was able to slip by for 2 reasonds 1. he was handicaped 2. his dagger was on his right thigh. God literally used his weakness to facilitate the deliverence of His people.

As to the other part of the question there were 700 men of Benjemen all left-handed. They could all sling a stone at a hairbreath and not miss. Judges 20:16
