The simple straightforward answer to the question is: WE DO NOT KNOW HOW MANY ANGELS THERE ARE! The Bible says that there are myriads upon myriads of angels. This means that there thousands upon thousands of them.
“Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands” (Revelation 5:11). The numbers of angels in this verse are clearly not meant to be taken literally, but rather they imply a numberless host. This verse is probably drawn from Dan. 7:10 which says, “A fiery stream issued and came forth from before Him. A thousand thousands ministered to Him; ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him. According to the International Standard Bible Encyclopedia I had, one volume refers to "The Angelic Host" thusly: The phrase "the host of heaven" is applied to the stars, which were sometimes worshipped by idolatrous Jews (Jeremiah 33:22; 2 Kings 21:3; Zephaniah 1:5); the name is applied to the company of angels because of their countless numbers (compare Dan 7:10) and their glory.
