My answer is that this is like the hospitality of the holy spirit or the coming of Christ. We were instructed to treat people as if they were in Christ as a first impression. What happens to the relationship after its creation is the after life of the relationship were we should, "Do unto others, as we would like them to do unto us." But people challenge the perspectives before, "They step out in faith."
Usually this is how we get tied into making hasty decisions about sex, relatives, worship and faith. We lose faith in our relationships because we don't use guidance and believe that Christ is not paying any attention to us when we turn our backs on Christ.
