If you care for the details you will find how inspired every word of the bible is. On one level, look how Matthew and Luke give two different routes to Jesus' lineage, one forJoseph the other for Mary. See from there by researching the OT how God defeated Lucifer's successful plot to cut the blood line from David to Messiah (when Jeconiah son of Solomon was cursed). Then read Genesis 5. Can you find a way to think Jewish for a moment and read the meaning of each name? Believe me it's worth the effort to research this amazing hidden gospel. It's so incredibly well written that you wonder is this real history, or was the whole bible just written recently by One Person. Hebrew English Adam Man Seth Appointed Enosh Mortal Kenan Sorrow Mahalalel The Blessed God Jared Shall come down Enoch Teaching Methuselah His death shall bring Lamech The despairing Noah Rest, or comfort Or search for a page like this www.youtube.com/watch?v=HUs8f-lphec http://www.khouse.org/articles/2000/284/ Meanings Of The Names In Genesis 5 by Chuck Missler Look for similar lists when the sons of Jacob are often listed, only 12 are ever named and often in a different order, sometimes Joseph's two sons make 14 but only 12 are ever on the list. Who is missing, what message is being spelled out? There's more to genealogies you will discover a whole new world of truth in four layers. Literal, model or metaphor, the word or intended message, and the mystical truth. Each layer of truth is there at once. Then you find the whole bible is written like that. Every word, letter, accent so carefully chosen for a purpose, with the message of Love and the Presence of Jesus hidden on every page
The Bible contains multiple genealogical records. Many of us either skim these sections or skip them altogether, finding them largely irrelevant and perhaps even boring. However, they are part of S...

Hallelujah for Genealogies, "toldot" in Hebrew. Toldot form the backbone to Genesis and the Holy Bible As Casper reminds us, the Gospel message is contained in the toldot of Adam. To me that is amazing! Michael has clearly identified the purpose of toldot to prove the trustworthiness of ALHYM's words and Kenneth has rooted the purpose of toldot in the key words "Like Father like Son" which brings us to the real issues of The Holy Bible ALHYM created Adam and Eve in His own likeness to be part of His household. The likeness of His "glory" (Hebrew 'kabod'), holiness. Sin entered into the world through Lucifer's rebellion in Heaven - a failed coup detat and was cast down onto earth together with 1/3rd of the angelic hosts (Rev 12: 7-13) and became known as "the great Dragon, serpent of old" (his image is embedded in all human cultures), Satan (adversary), the Devil (usurper), The Great Dragon, serpent of old (Rev 12: 9). Satan tempted Eve and Adam and they sinned (Gen 3: 1-13). This means Mankind's true Father is the Creator, ALHYM (Ge 1:27) or YHVH ALHYM (Ge 2:4). The problem is Mankind is descendants of Adam with sin - death. Each man has his own sins. ALHYM sent His Son into the world incarnate - fully flesh (sarx) and fully Spirit (ALHYM). His name is "iEsou christou" (Mt 1:1 Greek). iEsou means "He will save His people from their sins (Mt 1:21). Christou is The Anointed One", The Messiah", Christ (Jo 1:43; Mt 16:17). iEsou was ALHYM's Lamb (Jo 1:29) who was slain on PESACH, Passover 30-31 C.E. (1 Cor 5:7). His blood washes clean the sin of Adam (death) and all personal sins when they are confessed and washed clean (1 Jo 1:9). ALHYM poured out His Spirit on SHAVUOT, Pentecost 50 days later and created a new heavenly race of people (1 Cor 15:44-49; 2 Cor 15:17) in the order of the glorified iEsou (Ac 1:9-11). Filled with His glory (Greek doxa) which the first Adam lost "tongues of fire over each disciple (Acts 2:1-4). Each disciple of Christ has now the power (dunamis - like dynamite), empowered to follow after iEsou to ell others the gospel message of salvation through Christ. All revealed through "toldot" Lawrence NZ
The bible is a book about the spirit of man and God’s dealings with humanity. In the past, genealogies have indicated in a simple way what the spirit of any man could be based on the adage “like father, like son.” In fact, in the absence of sin, this rule has been of practical value for determining, for instance, the succession of kings, or even the livelihood of ordinary people. Where the bible does list genealogies, there is the implication that the original spirit has been transmitted to an important degree from father to son over the generations. Unfortunately, sin can degrade individuals and disintegrate human societies to the point where father and son can be complete opposites. Over time, genealogy tends to become useless as an indication of any man’s spirit and proclivities. As Jesus said to the Jews in John 8:39: “If ye were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works of Abraham.” The distance in time between the Jews and Abraham at that time was about two thousand years. In Christianity, the baptism of water and of the Holy Spirit removes our concern with genealogy because we become a new creation in Christ and are not of this world (or age). But Judaism is still of this world so genealogy remains relevant for them. Mormons consider themselves to be of the tribe of Judah, as such they spent much time, energy and money recording and recreating genealogies for their own purposes.
