For example, his teachings that we focus on the kingdom of heaven instead of Jesus Christ?

Do you think it's inappropriate to learn more about, and seek after Jesus His own and only Gospel? He taught it because the only manner in which you receive revelation is through relationship with Him. He is our mediator for the Father and His Kingdom, if you seek not, you know not, if you are surrendered in love, in relationship, His Gospel comes alive in your life. Otherwise you have no idea what His only Gospel is about. Jesus always taught about the importance of relationship with Him, through the Holy Spirit we are raised into Kingdom Citizenship, and able to live the impossible lifestyle which He commanded us to live, if we are to follow after Him.
Healing, deliverance, raising the dead, signs and wonders, or seeking after something you cannot see yet, His Kingdom, are impossible for the carnal mind and heart, but Faith, which is love in action, makes it possible for us to live sealed in His Kingdom, where the only Government is Jesus and the only Governor is the Holy Spirit. It is the only Truth that sets us free from this world in all ways, and the only Good News He came to announce. We are called to live in the impossible as if it's normal, because it is, with Him. Through the Holy Spirit we carry His presence, in us. We are born again in His Kingdom when we exchange citizenship literally, this is a legal transaction. If the Gospel of "salvation" is taught, people have no idea what that all means, while it's only a small aspect of Jesus His Kingdom Gospel. But a different Gospel all together, and He didn't give any permission to teach any other Gospel than His Kingdom Gospel. But you have no Gospel if you are not in relationship and seeking after it with Him, personally. You are to [become] a living embodiment of His Kingdom Gospel, as you are taught through the Holy Spirit.
So, it would be more contradictory to not seek after it with Him in relationship. As it was His only Gospel, message and teaching. Because He is a truly, very alive King, his teaching is a Mandate, something we are to do, because He loves us and truly wants us to live a good, abundant and empowered life. The will of the Father is always to bring His Kingdom on the Earth, as it is in Heaven. We can only be Kingdom Citizens if we are raised rightly, and matured enough to steward all the blessings and inheritance that belongs to us, otherwise it will hurt us or ruin our lives because we are not able to handle it correctly, which is often caused by a sense of inferiority and a taught low esteem, and the Father wants to bless us. Our confidence is in Jesus and who He says we are. Part of His royal Family. Here to establish Kingdom Dominion, that was always the intention of the Father.
Be blessed and pursue all which Jesus has in store for you, it's more than you can ever dream of.
In love, a fellow Kingdom Citizen.
