When I was in college, I was in Campus Crusade for Christ (now Cru). One of the booklets they had us study in our small group was "The Uniqueness of Jesus." I am sure it had something about the uniqueness of Jesus' death, but I can't remember now. All I can remember is that it was the introduction to The 10 Basic Steps Toward Christian Maturity, by Bill Bright, co-founder of Campus Crusade for Christ.
1 Peter 3:18 - 22
ESV - 18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit. 19 In which he went and proclaimed to the spirits in prison.
