A point of interest in this passage is that what is often translated 'childbearing' is actually 'The childbirth' or 'through the childbearing'. It is a singular, referring to one birth. What birth? The birth of Christ! Woman, like man, is saved via abiding faith in Christ. This applies to women of any age or maternal status.
