What was the state of the earth before creation?

Can someone explain this?

Genesis 1:1 - 31

ESV - 1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth (Gen 1:1). The earth did not exist before this time. God created it out of nothing. God existed before his creation because he is eternal, without beginning or end.

Scientists who are Christians show the similarity of this verse to the theory of the Big Bang. The bible says God created time (in the beginning), space (the heavens) and matter (and the earth). The Big Bang hypothesizes that time, space and matter all came into existence at this event.

As Christians we believe it was the personal God of the bible who created the universe, not a Big Bang.

A casual reading of Genesis 1 might give the impression that the earth was already in existence even prior to the beginning of God's creative activity.

However, I would say that Genesis 1:1-2 could also be read or interpreted as indicating that, on the first of the six days of creation, even before God commanded light to exist, He had already created the earth (as indicated in Genesis 1:1), but as a formless, lifeless mass covered by water (although the Bible does not record Him doing so by means of a specific command). (Also, I would say that God created that mass out of nothing.)

In the subsequent verses, God then began to form the earth that He had created, doing so first by commanding the creation of light, at which point the first day of creation ended.

Isaiah 14:12-17 speaks of the Fall of Lucifer, who intended to take over the Throne of God and was cast down together with a third of the angels. Something else happened to the atmosphere during this period to the earth that resulted in darkness. There is a difference between darkness and night. That’s why in the KJV, Genesis 1 :28, God tells Adam and Eve to be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth. The earth needed to be replenished. Satan had access to Eden and that is a mystery Ezekiel 28 between God and Satan.

God created Adam in His image and not the angels. Satan had access to the earth and was able to deceive Adam and he took control. And that’s why God gave the prophecy of the virgin birth. The woman’s seed 3:15 will crush the serpent’s seed, and that happened at the cross when Jesus died and conquered death, hell and the grave. Women in general do not have any seed. It comes from the male only. Scientifically proven that they only pass nutrients during pregnancy and not the blood. The blood of Christ is supernatural and God guarded the virgin birth with The Holy Spirit.

Eventually Christ will completely take over the Earth at the 2nd coming with the return of Christ as King. We are in the end times now due to Israel. The Age of Grace (Church Age) is closing soon, the last 7 years in Daniel’s prophecy will come to pass, and Israel will be the main focus. Satan will try to destroy Israel so that Jesus can’t reign from Jerusalem but the Scriptures are prophetic and we know that Jesus will come as King and with the spoken word will destroy His enemies and take full control of the earth as you read in Rev19 vs 11 onwards.
