Was Jesus really so concerned about the Zealots finding out about this amazing miracle? If so, then why did he pick Simon "the Zealot" to be one of his 12 disciples? Surely Jesus would know that Simon would pass on a daily report of his activities to the Zealot community. Also, Judas Iscariot was a known sympathizer with the Zealots, even using money from the treasury of Jesus' ministry to buy the Zealots' loyalty.
Would Jesus not rather have been concerned about the Jewish religious leaders hearing about this amazing miracle? Weren't they the ones who had the real power to derail the purpose of his ministry? Weren't they being filled with anger and hatred toward Jesus because of their envy that he was becoming more popular with the people than they were?
Jesus knew he was destined to die on the Day of Passover, as John the Baptist had prophesied, "Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world"." But how many years had the Father given Jesus to complete his ministry? I think we know from the record of the gospels that in the 3rd year of his ministry the Jewish religious leaders were determined to kill him.
