Where (if at all) in the word of God does it say a man can continually be disobedient and still have the favor of God?

I have a friend who continues to be disobedient and claims that he has favor with God. Can you please show me some scripture to show this is true or untrue?

There are lots of verses for disobedient believers. John 3:18 First John 2:2. Romans 4:5-8. Romans 3:26-28. John 6:47 John 6:40 John 3:36. First John 5:13 John 3:16.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, physical death, but the GIFT of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

The only question there is, is where are you going when you die? Based on Gods word. John 6:47. Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me, hath everlasting life. If you have everlasting life, how long does is last? Forever. John 3:18.

Since it is eternal it can not be lost. And since Jesus died for the sins of the whole world, then He paid my sin debt in full and since I have no sins to pay for I can not go to hell.

Where am I going when I die? To heaven based on God word.

John 6:47. John 6:40 Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace ye are saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the GIFT of God, not of works, (you can not earn it) lest any man should boast. You can not boast in free.

All believers know they have eternal life because God said so and HE can not lie. First John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that BELIEVE on the name of the Son of God, that ye may KNOW YE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE.

I have eternal life because it is a free gift from God by a one time faith alone in Jesus finished work on the cross alone. He paid the debt for my sin and set me free. John 3:18.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, me, that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus, that whosoever, me, believeth in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Jesus said it, I believed it, and that settles it. I have eternal life. John 10:28-29

It does not depend on my obedience but on Jesus obedience to God. The GIFT of God is eternal life. Since it is a GIFT, the payments have all been made.

So whether I am an obedient child or a disobedient child has nothing to do with me going to heaven. John 1:12. Romans 1:16. If I am an obedient child God will bless me here and in heaven. First Corinthians 3:11-15. If I am a disobedient child I can be chastened by the Lord and lose the blessing that God had in store for me.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, and we all sin, First John 1:8. But the GIFT of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

The GIFT of God is eternal life, but my rewards in heaven are based on what I do after I have received the free gift.

First Corinthians 5:5 Turn such a one over to Satan to kill the flesh, so that his spirit my be saved in the day of the Lord. This was a born again believer, Ephesians 1:13 that was sleeping with his fathers wife. He was about to lose his life, and the rewards he could have had in heaven, but the man was still saved because God can not lie. John 6:47 First Corinthians 3:15 If any mans work be burned up, yet he shall be saved so as by fire. Only a loss of rewards. Not eternal life. The GIFT of God is eternal life. Not a reward for good behavior.

Saul disobeyed God so many times that he lost the Holy Spirit. He was about to go into battle but was not confident of the outcome. Samuel the prophet was dead. So Saul went to a witch to have Samuel called up from the dead to ask him about the battle he was about to engage in.

Samuel told Saul, tomorrow you and your son will die and be with me. So Saul was saved even though all of his disobedients..

Lot is a picture of the rapture of the church. The angels had to get lot and his family out of the cities so that God could destroy them.

Lot offered his daughters to be raped to protect the angels. Later Lot got drunk and had sex with his daughters because they thought they were the last people on earth.

King David committed adultery and premeditated murder.

Paul said he was yet carnal. The things I do I should not do and the things I should do I do not. He said it was sin that dwells in us after we have received the free gift of eternal life. First John 1:8 If we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

Paul said even when we do good there is evil present with us. Pride. If we say we have no pride, we just admitted we do. We all have sins of commission and sins of omission. But the Lord has delivered us from them all. We aught to hate sin because we see what it does to others. But we are never going to be sinless in this life. That is what keeps us humble.

First Corinthians 5:5 Turn such a one over to Satan to kill the flesh so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord.

This was a born again believer, Ephesians 1:13-14 who was sleeping with his fathers wife. He was about to lose his life, and the rewards he could have had in heaven, First Corinthians 3:15, but the man was still saved. Only his works/ rewards were burned up. He was saved so as by fire.

God can not go back on His word. John 3:18 Believers are no longer condemned, but unbelievers are condemned already because they have not believed on the name of the Son of God..

Romans 4:5-8 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on Him who justifieth the ungodly, his FAITH is counted for righteousness.

Blessed is the man whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

Romans 3:26-28 For He is the just and the justifier of them that believe in Jesus. Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? By the law of works? Nay, but by the law of FAITH, therefore we conclude a man is justified by FAITH apart from the deeds of the law.

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the POWER Of God unto salvation to every one that believeth, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Jesus paid our sin debt in full at the cross and imputed His perfect righteousness to our account.

Unless our righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees we can not see the kingdom of God.

We have His imputed righteousness, not our own filthy rags righteousness. God is perfect which makes us all sinners. But God sent His own Son, Jesus, that whosoever believeth in Him, should not perish, but HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, physical death, but the GIFT of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord. The GIFT of God is eternal life, not a reward for good behavior, but a free GIFT.

We can have practical righteousness, but not perfect righteousness which only comes from God.

First John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that BELEIVE on the name of the Son of God, that ye may KNOW YE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. We know that we know that we know we have eternal life. Paid in full by the GIVER.

We can contribute nothing to our salvation. Jesus paid it all and we paid 0. The GIFT of God is eternal life.

Romans 11:6 All grace, no works. Our works can not save sinners. Jesus died for sinners. We are all sinners. First John 2:2 And He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but for the sins of THE WHOLE WORLD.

Those who put their trust in the Lord will not be ashamed. Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the GOSPEL of Christ, (First Corinthians 15:1-4) For it is the POWER of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. John 6:47. Acts 16:31. John 6:40.John 3:16. If you are a WHOSOEVER, YOU HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. Gods word, and He can not lie.
