That procrastination is to be shunned, Scripture calls us to be diligent with our greatest enemy: our soul. 

For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? (Mark 8:36, 37) For all our days have passed away in Your wrath; we finish our years like a sigh. The days of our lives are seventy years; and if by reason of strength they are eighty years, yet their boast is only labor and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away (Psalm 90:9, 10). 

So, each morning we awaken to receive 86,400 seconds as a gift of life. To procrastinate or to be wise with it like the tireless ant (Proverbs 6:6-11), here is ‘the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is man’s all. For God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil (Ecclesiastes 12:13, 14). 

To Fear God (Luke 12: 4, 5) is the only legitimate fear that helps one against the inevitable day of Judgment ‘as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment’ (Hebrews 9:27). They will give an account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead (1 Peter 4:5). He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life (1 John 5:11, 12). And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:5). 

Repentance, as a change of mind from rejecting Jesus to embracing Him as ’The Christ of God’ (Luke 9:20), is therefore now, not later beyond life's threshold should one face God as his nemesis! So, while eternity beckons and souls lounge in limbo, to procrastinate about Jesus is to be feared lest it be proven fateful. 

The race is not to the swift,
Nor the battle to the strong,
Nor bread to the wise,
Nor riches to men of understanding,
Nor favor to men of skill;
But time and chance happen to them all.
For man also does not know his time:
Like fish taken in a cruel net,
Like birds caught in a snare,
So the sons of men are snared in an evil time,
When it falls suddenly upon them (Ecclesiastes 9:11, 12).
