I have a question I am hoping you might consider and give me your thoughts on. I have a long-time friend that proclaims to be a Christian who is planning to marry a woman who claims to be pagan, and in her words a "practicing witch." They plan to have a Christian ceremony to appease his family and I’ve been asked to be the best man. As a Christian and an ordained minister, I see this whole wedding as blasphemy. It seems to me a pagan having a Christian ceremony is a mockery of God and what marriage in the eyes of God stands for. Because of this I am planning to decline participation but before I do that, I wanted to get opinions from others to further my thoughts on this because it’s not my opinion that counts but God's. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.
2 Corinthians 6:14
ESV - 14 Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?

2 Cor. 6:14 tells us not to partner with unbelievers, since it's like joining light and darkness, good and evil. When Paul advised widows and widowers in 1 Cor. 7:39, he stated that a Christian must marry a believer. And in 1 Cor. 5 he commanded the breakup of a sinful marriage, without any regard for the couple's love or faithfulness to each other. We simply cannot join Christ to anyone worshiping, even unwittingly, the powers of darkness. It is indeed a mockery of God.
