      Great question: What does it mean to leave and cleave? I'll deal with the cleaving only. Genesis 2:24 I remember once in high school as a new Christian, we were on our way on a bus to a weekend retreat with Young Life in Arizona, and one teenage couple were REALLY closely intertwined in much hugging (that's all), but our good-natured Young Life director said, "They are so close that no air can get between!" He was referring to Job 41:15, TLB: “His overlapping scales are his pride, making a tight seal so no air can get between them
