The question of a Christian staying single and what the Bible says about believers never marrying is often misunderstood. Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 7:7-8: "I wish that all men were as I am. Bu...

I agree with the submission, particularly that staying single is of a higher calling. However, this must be observed by those who can discipline themselves and will not commit fornication. If you cannot possess your vessel properly, please go and marry.
If someone chooses to live as single, It must be a call or vocation and must be carried on with right social relationships and with the morals of righteousness and religiosity understanding it as God's will for him or her. The angels in heaven and people who have dedicated themselves for a celibate life in religious orders have similar role to play. They can be the role models for those who are single and not married. Only thing is that the life of single who are not bound by religious order and restrictions is more challenging and adventurous in faithfully carrying out their vocation. They should not fall to the pleasures of flesh and bodily lustful temptations as to lose their souls and become socially and spiritually unacceptable to people. Below are some scriptural references where the single life and married life of couple are given a proper place so that both are equally exalted and instructed. Genesis 2:18 ESV Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.” 1 Corinthians 7:26-40 ESV I think that in view of the present distress it is good for a person to remain as he is. Are you bound to a wife? Do not seek to be free. Are you free from a wife? Do not seek a wife. But if you do marry, you have not sinned, and if a betrothed woman marries, she has not sinned. Yet those who marry will have worldly troubles, and I would spare you that. This is what I mean, brothers: the appointed time has grown very short. From now on, let those who have wives live as though they had none, and those who mourn as though they were not mourning, and those who rejoice as though they were not rejoicing, and those who buy as though they had no goods,. 1 Corinthians 7:2 ESV But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband. Matthew 19:12 ESV For there are eunuchs who have been so from birth, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Let the one who is able to receive this receive it.” 1 Corinthians 7:32-35 ESV I want you to be free from anxieties. The unmarried man is anxious about the things of the Lord, how to please the Lord. But the married man is anxious about worldly things, how to please his wife, and his interests are divided. And the unmarried or betrothed woman is anxious about the things of the Lord, how to be holy in body and spirit. But the married woman is anxious about worldly things, how to please her husband. I say this for your own benefit, not to lay any restraint upon you, but to promote good order and to secure your undivided devotion to the Lord. 1 Corinthians 7:8 ESV To the unmarried and the widows I say that it is good for them to remain single as I am. 1 Corinthians 7:1-40 ESV Now concerning the matters about which you wrote: “It is good for a man not to have sexual relations with a woman.” But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband. The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband. For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. Do not deprive one another, except perhaps by agreement for a limited time, that you may devote yourselves to prayer; but then come together again, so that Satan may not tempt you because of your lack of self-control... Isaiah 56:4-5 ESV For thus says the Lord: “To the eunuchs who keep my Sabbaths, who choose the things that please me and hold fast my covenant, I will give in my house and within my walls a monument and a name better than sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name that shall not be cut off.
