My simplistic answer would be one of extreme caution for each and every child of God and others as well. We are not to 'tempt the Lord thy God, for only He is just and Holy..." Just as Michael Houdmann stated in His answer, only >once< did God tell the Israelites to test Him on anything...otherwise, Do Not Test Him! God is a very, very jealous God! And, ONLY He deserves to be Praised! Remember, God tells us "to step before His Throne of Grace with all thanksgiving, and praise but with a contrite heart asking for forgiveness of all our transgressions." To test God would be taking a position of 'equal' or superiority just as Satan tried to do with Jesus in the wilderness. We all need to remember and exemplify one very important characteristic as children of God. "Have Faith in God; Live Faith in God; 'Give' Faith in God; Witness Faith in God; Be and Live Faithfully unto the Lord Jesus Christ." --Andy--
