The [Six-pointed Davidic] Star is also arranged as two triangles one with its point up and the other with its point down. The fundamental polarity of the Above and the Below yet again. Why? Because God creates by polarity. But what do we mean by saying that God creates by polarity? Let us look at the Days of Creation in Genesis (ch 1): First Day: Light divided from darkness. Second Day: Waters divided from waters. Third Day: Dry land divided from seas. Fourth Day: Day divided from night. Fifth Day: Birds of the air and creatures of the waters created. Answers in Genesis has an interesting article on this topic. They make sure to clarify that what one believes about the age of the Earth is in no way a salvation issue, but it is an issue that matters as it can affect the credibility of scripture.
One interesting thing they point out is that scripture places thorns, disease, and meat-eating post-fall, yet fossil thorns, fossilized diseased animals, and meat in fossilized droppings have been found. So if fossils all pre-dated humans (vs. happening for the most part recently, such as in the great flood) then Gen 1-2 would contain many falsehoods.

My view of the six days are simple. I view them believing at this point in my spiritual growth, that each day could have been separated by millions upon millions of years. The Scriptures in the old testament were written as a school teacher and when viewed in the physical, they seem confusing. However, when viewed from a spiritual point of view they take on a completely different form. The Scriptures were written by man guided by the Holy Spirit. There is nothing in Genesis that says that there weren't vast amounts of time between each day. Genesis also says the earth was void and without form, yet the Scriptures also say that God never created anything that was void and without form. For me that tells me the original earth was destroyed at sometime before the account of Genesis took place. I could be wrong but that is what I see.
