What did Jesus mean when he said, "I come not to bring peace, but to bring a sword"?
There are a lot of opinions, but I want to know what it really means...
Matthew 10:34
ESV - 34 Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

Ephesians 6: 16-18 So that is what it means. The sword Jesus brings is His Word, The Bible. And again, Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
