As a matter of fact, the Bible says nothing about such thing. That habit is from pagan origin. The right question is, does it please the Father? Cause, be sure, anniversaries can be intellectually related to YHWH's Festivals (seven). But the fact is that, in our Creator Calendar, it doesn't work. It does with the Roman pagan Calendar. Dealing with birthdays and anniversaries, we should still remind the two birthdays episodes in the Bible, the one with Pharao (Gen. 40:20) in the First Covenant, and the other one with Herodes in the New Covenant (Matt. 14:6). Both end up in blood. Is that enough to prevent us from celebrating anniversaries, especially wedding anniversaries? We need to be careful about some cultural patterns which disolve our lives, straying us from the Christ-Esteem's axis that should guide us and pulling us to Self-Esteem that muddles the relationship between the vine (Christ) and the branches we are. Brother, sister, while hanging on that wedding anniversary habit, just think there are thousands of christians around the world who never celebrate wedding anniversaries and are fully devoted to please the Almighty each and every day. If the frenetic pace of your life makes you feel the need to stop and rejoice once a year for your obedience to the Lord, please do it to give Him thanks first and second to honor your hus' or your wife. (1Peter 3:7)
