Yes the Catholic Church by Paul who was one of the disciples of Jesus
Certainly not Paul there is no comparison, they might mention him but there is nothing of his teachings in their practices, there is just something that doesn't add up in this church with a small c.
The Church is built upon Jesus (1 Corinthians 3:11 NLT "For no one can lay any foundation other than the one we already have—Jesus Christ."). It's not Peter, Paul, the pope, a church pastor / minister, a church denomination / organisation, etc but Christ alone.
Yes, Gary the foundation of the Church is Christ. But there are other organizations that hide under the name Church but there activities are contrary to Christ's. Jesus said beware of wolves that lie under sheep's clothing and Paul mentioned the same of the.
John said they went out from among us but they were not apart of us.
I agree with Dorcas, there are plenty of organizations who call themselves Christian yet deny the divinity of Christ (e.g. Mormons, INC, Jehovah's witnesses)
