Boy Michael, very convicting and so true! I am trying to determine where the Lord wants me to work. I thought I wanted one job but, since reading this response, I am wondering if I want that job for my own pride. How does one determine where the Lord desires to use them? Must I feel like my cross is heavy in order to be in God's will or should I assume that God wants me where I am drawn?
Again, excellent response--very thought provoking.

The pride of life comes from our perspective on our own existence. None of us would be here except by the will of our Creator. None of us can breathe, eat, drink or live without the continuing sustenance of our Creator.

Our sense of our own importance is entirely illusory. Jesus said He can raise up stones to do His work. Every area of life where we think we are important, that God or anyone else needs us, is complete self-deception.

The biggest revealer of the pride of life is death, when we are staring it in the face. At that moment, we understand, we get it.
