There is NO difference in using the words "God" or "Jesus" in prayer or a a general "light" swear word or expression. It's total and utter blasphemy. The trend started with entertainment on radio, TV and the movies and somehow people today have been softened up to using our Father's name as a swear word. Absolutely it's not okay in any way.
I have watched TV program's and movies where every opportunity is used to blasphemies God and Jesus. It's not okay for a believer to watch any of this evil nonsense or even worse say it themselves. God has not changed for eternity, And He's not suddenly going to decide it's okay to use His name in vain as a substitute for a swear word or to express anger and frustration. The only being that it is serving is the devil.
In my view it is wrong to to use the name of God in vain. I have learned to excalim differently from "Oh my God" or "Jesus!/ Geez!" or "For Christ's sakes".
I think the more we draw closer to God the more we become like him and whenever we say something that is not right in the sight of God we feel it and do away with it. The bible says we should let the spirit that is within us judge us and that makes us the children of God or son of the Father. Amen.
I agree with the statement before me. Once you have the Holy Spirit in you He will convict you if something is not right.you will begin to feel strange about it.or if you hear someone speaking about your Lord in vain it irritates you.
