What would be considered 'idle words'?

Matthew 12:36

ESV - 36 I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak.

James 4 tells us to say "If it's the LORD's will" before we make plans which can sometimes just be idle words -- because, if we are Christians, he "orders our steps". We tend to sometimes say words to young children that may hinder them, e.g. "You're just like your . . ." or "You'll never amount to . . ." These words are like radio signals floating around. You can never get them back after they've done damage. GOD is the only one that know our future. The Bible tells us in James again, that we should Be "quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to get angry".
