What will happen to Christians with unconfessed sin on judgment day?

What happens to a Christian if they die before they can repent of the last sin they committed? Or if they die with a longstanding unconfessed sin?

I believe that Jesus died to pay the penalty for all my sins - past, present and future. My forgiveness does not depend on my confession, it depends on Christ's suffering and death in my place. My daily confession is necessary so that nothing will get in the way of my intimate daily fellowship with God.

When I am unwilling to acknowledge my sin, God will often allow me to suffer the consequences until I am willing to repent. When I have unconfessed sin in my life that I am unwilling to deal with, God will withhold some of his intended blessings because of my disobedience.

I don't believe that unconfessed sin affects my salvation in any way. My attitude toward sin affects the blessings I receive in this life and my eternal rewards in heaven. Never take sin lightly and always keep short accounts with God and you will find the abundant life that Jesus promised.
