Quite honestly it seems that many do not understand the relation ship of the NT church to the old testament in the bible. In the old testament that is no institurtion that even gets close to the modern church.
There was no such thing in the old testament. Therefore as far as the church is concerned all of its adminstration, offices etc come form the new testament. There is nothing in the old testament phycically that can be incorporated in the modern church because it did not exist then. Read the book of Ephesians it is all about the church what it is and how it is to be set up... The old testament is sound biblicat material for training in righteousness but not for the administration of the church for the church is a new testament entitity and it offices (primarily 1st and 2nd Timothy and Titus given precise information about the administation of the church and if officials/offices; the iother epistles of the apostles gives the daily living requirements of members of the church. The church is not subject to the law of the old testment or the temple activities..,. all oif this wa fulfilled by Christ and the church is no longer under the precepts of the law of the old testamebnt for it has all been incorporated into the teaching of the apsotles as they were taught by Christ who fulfilled all requirements of t he law and setup the administration of the church which REPLACES THE LAW OF JUDIASM ONCE AND FOR ALL TIME.
AN AMOUR BEARER IN THE CHRUCH! HIOW ABSURD. THERE WAS NOT EVEN ONE IN THE OLD OLD TESTAMENT SYSTEM OF THEOLOGY WHAT NEED IS THERE FOR ONE IN THE MODERN CHURCH/
True, there is no "position" for that in the church. But remember that every thing in the old testament was given for a type and shadow of spiritual applications.
So if you or someone felt the Lord was dealing with them to be an armour bearer, then that would be more than a position in the church! That would be indicating that perhaps God wants you to carry the word of God on your lips, alongside your pastor, or support the ministry in your assembly in some form of service, even as a lowly armour bearer would support and "go with" the King.
