Patience thinks the best of every person. It does not insist on its own rights or its own way. It is not self-seeking, selfish or rude. It takes no account of a suffered wrong. It reasons and reacts kindly and reasonably in every situation. Self-control rules over all your reactions, even evil assaults. 1 Corinthians 13:5

It takes every thought captive to the obedience of Christ's 2 commandments: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind soul and body, and love thy neighbors as thy self.

Example: Loving your neighbor is making sure your trash on trash pickup day doesn't blow all over the neighborhood because it is bagged or lidded securely. Yes, God hates litter. His creation is not your trash dump.
