Jesus Christ wanted people to fulfill the law and offer the testimony that Moses commanded in such cases (Lev. 14:4,10,21-22). ✿ Three kinds of offerings for lepers: 1. Sin offering (Lev. 14:19) 2. Burnt offering (Lev. 14:20) 3. Meat (food) offering ✿ He was already clean from leprosy before he was brought to the priest. So this simply refers to ceremonial cleansing, as recognized by Christ (Mt. 8:1-4). ✿ Seven Commands--Ceremonial Cleansing for the Poor ❶ A poor man healed of leprosy shall take one lamb, one tenth deal of flour mingled with oil, a log of oil (1 part), two turtledoves or pigeons, and bring them to the priest at the door of the tabernacle, on the eighth day(Lev. 14:21-23). ❷ The priest shall take the lamb and the oil and wave them before the Lord (Lev. 14:24). ❸ He shall kill the lamb for a trespass offering and put some of the blood on the tip of the right ear, right thumb, and right great toe of the leper (Lev. 14:25). ❹ The priest shall pour the oil in the palm of his own left hand and sprinkle some of it with his right finger seven times before God (Lev. 14:27). ❺ He shall put some of the oil on the physical parts of the leper where the blood has been applied (Lev. 14:28). ❻He shall pour the rest of the oil upon the head of the leper (Lev. 14:29). ❼ He shall offer one of the pigeons or turtledoves for a sin offering, the other for a burnt offering with the meat offering, and make atonement for the leper (Lev. 14:30-31). ✿ In each case it would have to be known to the priests how one was cleansed and this should be sufficient proof of His Messiahship to the priests. The Jewish rabbis taught that cleansing lepers should be characteristic of the Messiah, so His very works proved it before He was forced by opposition to make such claim for Himself.
Leviticus 14:1-32 specified the offerings that were to be made by people who had been cleansed of leprosy. Depending on what they were able to afford, they were to offer either two male lambs and one ewe lamb (all unblemished), a cereal offering of flour mixed with oil, and oil; or else (for poorer individuals) one male lamb, a smaller cereal offering, oil, and two turtledoves or young pigeons. (The cited passage contained detailed instructions as to how these offerings were to be made, and the rituals that were to be followed.)
