When a Christian prays about a situation continuously, doesn't it signify unbelief?

I would agree that a believer should have faith that God will hear and respond to any request in His own manner and time, and that it is therefore not necessary to make repeated requests, as noted by Jesus in Matthew 6:7-8.

However, to take a more charitable view, such repeated prayer could, in my opinion, arise more from the importance of the prayer request to the person making it, and the burden that is being placed on the person's heart about it, rather than primarily indicating a lack of faith.

In that regard, I recall the passage in Acts 12 concerning Peter's imprisonment where Acts 12:5 that the church was earnestly praying to God for him. I would doubt whether such prayer consisted only of one petition to God by one person, but instead repeated prayer by multiple people.

(However, ironically, when Peter was miraculously freed by an angel, those same people did not believe the servant girl Rhoda when she told them that Peter was standing outside at the gate of the house in which they were gathered. Instead, they told her that she was out of her mind, or that she must have seen Peter's guardian angel, rather than Peter himself.)
