What suggestions can be made for a believer who has experienced domestic violence, has had law enforcement and the courts involved, and is having a hard time dealing with emotions regarding the individual who caused the harm being incarcerated?

Having been in a long term, on and off relationship, one of which had more then it's fair share of trauma and violence, the female in this case dealt with a lot before involving the police to the point charges were pressed anda final restraining order was put into place. She understands the severity and risks that are involved in the relationship's dynamics; however, she is having conflicting emotions about the individual being incarcerated. This is not the first time this has happened, nor is she the first woman it has happened to. She has shared that her beliefs are not aligning when it is being looked at as a church and state perspective. She knows she has to stay safe and what happened to her is not her fault, nor did she deserve it. Unfortunately, she is very conflicted with in her relationship with Jesus, and this person being incarcerated due to his actions. What Biblical suggestions would you offer her?

Ephesians 4:32

ESV - 32 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
